SESI shows some love to the HDK

After years of languishing in obscurity, Side Effects has finally cast its gaze onto its forgotten stepchild; the HDK. For those of you who don’t know, the HDK is basically the best way to add extra functionality to Houdini. Granted it’s not needed that often, and with VEX and now Python filling the mid-level toolset it’s only called on in specific circumstances, but when it is then you can do amazing things with it.

Well, you could if you could make heads or tails of it all anyway. The HDK’s downfall has always been in its documentation and the steep learning curve. But now with 10.0, SESI has upgraded their HDK docs to include actual documentation. That, plus the examples and intro guides should help a lot of people get over that initial hurdle and start to dive into the HDK.
