What is it?

This SOPs will allows you create points. From these points, you can create polygon out of it. Add SOP also has option to keep points but delete polygons from the incoming geometry.

Sometimes, people also use AddSOP as a control sop which other SOPs can channel reference to one of the channel in the Add SOP. One of the reason for that practice is because the spare channel prior to H8 tends to be obscure. Starting with Houdini 8, it is better to use the new spare channel.
