A bug is an error in the software. Crashes, UI problems, incorrect results and just generally naughty behaviour of all types.
Reporting
To report a bug in Houdini to Side Effects:
- Add the bug report directly to their support dept through a web form
- Post on their forums
- Email them at support@sidefx.com
- Use their Online Issues Database (for commercial customers)
Apprentice
Official support is only available for customers with commercial licenses. Apprentice users are welcome to use the forums and to report bugs and log RFEs, but cannot expect SESI to respond timeously, or at all. The forums is often the best way to both illustrate a bug and also get a workaround suggested to you by the community. SESI do read the forums (especially their own, and often odforce too) but are not required to answer. They kinda do anyway, lucky for us.
