GeometryObject
From Odwiki
What is it?
Geometry Object is where models and particle phenomena are sculpted and define. Inside the Geometry Object is where the SOP network begins. Generally, outside of the geometry object is where we referred to as "world space" and inside the geometry object an "object space". Thus when you deals with the transformation in this level, it is referred to as "rigid transform" -- you cannot perform any deformation in this level.
Bacause of this world and object space, new users often confused between what they see in the SOP network and the Object network.
Side notes
- In short, inside a Geometry Object, we define and manipulate geometry.
- Inside the SOP network, unless you have a good reason to, you should opt to model at the origin.
- You will not see the intended geometry at the Object network unless your Display (blue) flag is set. Template (pink) and footprint (brown) flag are often for references.
- You will be able to render the intended geometry only if your render (purple) flag is set to an operator in particular. Any flags else will not do.
