Character Tools : Kinematic Solvers

Houdini provides a few Kinematic Solvers with its CharacterTools:

  • InverseKinematics : All the bones in a chain reach for a goal, with optional twist controls and constraints
  • FollowCurveKinematics : Bones attempt to lie on a curve
  • ForwardKinematics? : Each bone reached for their own goal
  • NoKinematics? : Joints respond only to rotational information on each bone
