From Odwiki
Here are several resources to learning how to use Houdini.
The HoudiniApprentice program is definitely the most effective way to learn Houdini. Houdini Apprentice is freely distributed here with HTML and PDF manuals to ease the process. These manuals are best read using the integrated web browser inside Houdini because Side Effects has taken care to include many examples which can be loaded into Houdini directly from the links in the web page. Also available from various places on the web are a large selection of video tutorials from Side Effects.
Side Effects now has a Learning Roadmap online that lists all of the tutorials, videos and dvds now available for learning. Information on third-party learning materials is also listed here.
There is also a very helpful and knowledgable online community of professionals, students and enthusiasts which exist in the form of official and independent forums and mailing lists which can answer many questions you may have. And, of course, there is this very od~[wiki], which is a community-maintained knowledge base for Houdini.
Please feel free to to look around Odwiki and add information as you will.. but please take care to ensure that information you add is as accurate as possible.
Odwiki is part of odforce, which is a site dedicated to the distribution of the Houdini lore. Please visit the root site and have fun!
Please check out the ExternalHoudiniResources page for information on where to find the software, resources and forums.
