MotionControl
From Odwiki
Motion Control describes technology for motorizing real-world camera movement in order to produce a camera move which is either:
- Repeatable: This allows the same camera move to be executed over and over again. Different rigs have differing accuracy for this task. Sometimes its adequate to just have a semi-repeatable rig for certain shots.
- Computer controlled: Camera moves can be designed completely virtually. The computer can check for various violations beforehand, such as the rig being overextended, colliding with set pieces or the roof or floor, accelleration and decelleration to much for the motors on the rig to handle, etc.
It's possible to build virtual rigs in Houdini to design and PreVisualize? camera moves. The CHOPs Context is especially useful for this task. Motion Control rigs
