TriStripSOP

What it does

The TriStripSOP will convert all the polygons into the model into triangle strips. Middle clicking on the SOP will reveal this by reporting the number of TriangleStrips in the model rather than the number of polygons.

Note that the TriangleStrips will cross texture seams. They will also cross material seams. To avoid these two problems, the VertexSplitSOP and PrimitiveSplitSOP can be used.

TriangleStrips are not fully supported in Houdini. While they display fine, they will not be the targets of ProjectSOPs.

TriangleStrips result in much faster display on modern hardware as fewer vertices have to be sent to the graphics card. However, note that only smooth shaded view modes are present.
